Back in Autumn 2008, a debate took place between two Oxford University dons on the relationship between Science and Christianity. Professor Richard Dawkins, a well-known atheist, and brilliant writer and populariser of Science argues that the two ideas are incompatible. Professor John Lennox (himself a Mathematician and Philosopher of Science) discusses several concepts with Dawkins, in this 80 minute encounter, making a case for belief in the Christian God.
This debate was particularly fascinating as Dawkins willingly conceded that a reasonable case could be made for a deistic god (one who setup the world through the laws of science, but then effectively let the show run itself). However, Lennox goes on to challenge whether the God of Christianity is 'petty' as Dawkins claims.

In April 2009, Christian Philosopher William Lane Craig and the famous spokesman for the New Atheism, journalist Christopher Hitchens, had a hugely engaging debate on the existence of God. This is one of the most watched debates of its kind, and is a great place to start if you are interested in hearing some logical arguments for the existence of God being put to the test by the late Hitchens.
