Notes
Read the notes
- We all have a definition of faith but we need to get it right.
- Faith is based upon knowledge. People assume faith is when you don’t rely on facts or logic.
- Hebrews 11:1.
- There are two realms – the temporal and the eternal. Faith is eternal.
- When Jesus was on earth He saw into something that was happening – what the Father was doing.
- It doesn’t mean you don’t take risks – you just don’t risks on nothing.
- Knowledge of an eternal nature.
- Faith is using rational senses and reason but is also supernatural.
- We all have a faith stance – what do you live for, what do you lean on? If it’s something that’s temporal – what you can see/touch/etc – all will wear out and be done away with one day.
- There’s only One who can take the weight of our leaning.
- The apostle Paul was an extraordinary man of God and yet typical of a Christian:
- He was raised devoted to God but opposed to Jesus.
- He meets the risen Jesus and realises He is the Christ.
- His knowledge – from being a Jewish Pharisee – was recasted and not cast away.
- His faith was based on his knowledge and supernatural power.
- He lived a life of increasing mission caused by increasing faith and knowledge.
- Faith is and faith does.
- Acts 26:19,25,26.
- Acts 18:11.
- Paul is so full of faith based on knowledge and joy.
- 1 Cor. 2:3 – Paul is a broken man when he turns up in Corinth.
- Faith meeting with faith – real faith – builds faith and continues the work of God.
- Don’t stop letting the gospel pour out of you.
- If you don’t have joy, go to God – He will rebuild you.
- God says the same thing to us as in this passage – He has many people who are His in this city.
- As CCK grows, think local – think about the small ways you can help, with joy and faith and a willing heart.
- God wants to replace fruitless addictions with true worship. He wants to do this for people in our city.
- John 6:28-29 – the work of God is that you believe in Him who He sent. Depend completely on Jesus.
- Let the joy of knowing Jesus overflow into your life; let your faith act.
