A varied programme
'We love to meet new people and visitors,' writes one of the leaders, Edna Carter, 'and aim to help all to feel encouraged and supported in a friendly atmosphere. 'We meet at the building in Clarendon Villas, Hove, on Friday afternoons from 2.15 - 3.30pm, followed by chatting over tea and biscuits until about 4 o'clock. 'Many older people are isolated, facing huge challenges, and may be ill-prepared for the big questions of life we all face, especially in later years. In our varied programme we share together in fun, fellowship, communion and Bible teaching. We often have visiting speakers, and find opportunities to get to know each other better through birthday celebrations, anniversaries and parties, maybe a quiz or social get-together, outings, garden parties or similar events.' The group is run by a team of four: Vic & Edna Carter, Dorothea Clements and Pam Sweetman. For more information about the programme, special events or to enquire about help in getting to and from Clarendon Villas, Hove, please contact the church office on 01273 747687 or office@cck.org.uk
