The Beta Course is for anyone, but especially for those who have just completed the Alpha course; it offers the opportunity to maintain contact with people in a discussion-based gathering. It's a chance to look at the practical aspects of Christian living.
|
|
Who is it for?
Perhaps someone has encountered God for the first time on the Alpha course, and wishes to follow-through with more discoveries in a friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental environment. Beta will serve them well.
Or maybe someone became a Christian earlier in life, and is now returning to their faith. Beta is spot-on for them, too.
The course takes a similar format to that of the Alpha evenings, with a free meal, a short talk and an opportunity for no-holds-barred discussion and questions. It's also a great way of deepening friendship as well as making opportunity for further encounters with the living God.
Topics include: How can I be sure of my faith? What happens if things go wrong? What is 'speaking in tongues' all about? How can I get started on Bible reading?
The Beta course is completely free, and we guarantee you a free car ride home if you need one.
When & where is it?
On Tuesday evenings, running from 27th January 2009 at 7pm until 17th March at the Clarendon Centre, New England Street, Brighton. map

What's in a name?
Even a rudimentary awareness of the Greek alphabet (and the clue is in the word 'alphabet') will inform anyone that following Alpha comes Beta - do you see, Melvin, that's why the alphabet is called the Alpha-Bet. It isn't rocket science, but it's all Greek to me! |
