Parenting Course
In 1998, church members, Tal & Jo Fahy, had already embarked on one of the most difficult missions life throws at us: that of being a parent. They were searching for help and guidance when they came across 'Family Time' - a short parenting course based on the book by Mark and Lindsay Melluish.
'The course put family life into a new perspective for us,' says Tal. 'We’ve got 4 kids and although our church and family are very supportive, parenting can be quite a lonely business. Attending a course really helped us as we started out raising our family, and we just wanted to give other parents a chance to get together – it's not only for people who feel they’re struggling, but for anyone looking for advice and friendship”. |

‘It was great to know we weren’t alone going through certain situations; others had been there before and had really useful advice.’

Tal and Jo now run a Parenting Course at Church of Christ the King. It is open to anyone: church members and parents who have never set foot in church, single parents, young and old parents alike.
The only criteria is that you have children under 12 - or are planning to! Tal and Jo present the material in a down to earth way, drawing on their own experiences and their desire to see families grow and develop on strong, loving foundations.
Next course
The next Family Time Course will be held at the Clarendon Centre, New England Street, Brighton, starting in May (further details to follow). Each night there is a short talk and then a time for discussion over hot drinks and nibbles. On previous courses, it is these discussions that have been some of the most valuable times for parents as they share ideas, worries and strategies.
Book your place
Church of Christ the King is pleased to offer the Parenting Course free of charge but you do need to book a place. Call 01273 747 687 or email the church office at office@cck.org.uk for more information about the next course.
